Canoeing Trip 09

The usual suspects headed to Errol, NH on a canoe and camping trip. We canoed across the Umbagog lake into Maine where we set up camp for the night. Unfortunately the wind was our enemy on the way back and everyone was glad to finally make it to the dry land. It rained on the way back too, but that kept the bugs away at least.

Winterhaven

Abby and Ryan brought us to Winterhaven to see the Christmas lights. It is a really cool neighborhood that has a "Festival of Lights" each year. They give out awards for different categories.

Tucson

Orla and I headed to Tucson to spend a couple of days with the Greens. We had a great time there. Tucson seems like a really nice city with a lot to do. We visited the DeGrazia art gallery. This was really cool (and free!). The museum is in his home which he built and which contains a cool garden and chapel. We then went for a hiking in Sabino Canyon in search of some mountain lions :)

Sedona

On our Arizona trip we visited Sedona. We stopped at the Montezuma Castle on the way there. Sedona’s red rock formations make it really beautiful. We spent a night there and then hiked most of the following morning before we headed to Phoenix and Tucson.

Grand Canyon

Orla and I spent a day at the Grand Canyon. It is so amazing. It is hard to capture it in pictures. We did a nice 6 mile hike there. It was really windy and cold on top of the canyon but it was perfect conditions in the canyon for hiking. It would have been nice to have been able to hike to the river but that would mean we would have to camp.
